Scripture:
“Weeping may last for the night,
but joy comes in the morning.”
–Psalm 30:5
Observation:
Hurt is real and it is strong. But, with Him, eventually it does end.
Application:
Yesterday, I read of another earthquake in Italy, this one near Rome. This morning I read of an avalanche that came as a result of the earthquake.
My heart aches for all those involved and those suffering from the previous earthquakes in Italy.
My heart aches for all those suffering heartache and pain everywhere in the world for a number of reasons. Ouch.
Yes, bad things happen. There is heartache and horrible icky stuff out there (which is another reason it is particularly important to live out yesterday’s SOAP— you never know what someone else is going through and how much a kind gesture can help.)
He IS with us even through the bad things. And He will triumph.
Hold tight. Cling to Him.
Joy will ultimately come.
Prayer:
Father God,
Please comfort those who are hurting, those who are in the thick of the night, and let them know from where that comfort comes. Please stop the pain and the hate and the hurt in the world. I want you. I want your comfort and joy.
Thank you for this reassurance that it is coming, that it is here, that we should just keep holding on.
I love you, God.
