Scripture: Hebrews 13:20-21
20May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, 21equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Observation: May the powerful and loving God enable you to do His will.
Application: This is often my prayer, just not in such beautiful words.
When I am feeling overwhelmed by to-dos, I almost always stop and pray for God to show me what really needs to be done. It is easy for me to get carried away and want to accomplish lots of things.. more than I really can. So I often need t stop and ask God, “Please, show me what is your will for me to get done. Help me to see what is your will and what is not and then accomplish what You have set out for me.”
Prayer: Lord, oh wonderful Father and Creator, please work in me.
As usual I am feeling overwhelmed and need your help. My list of to-dos again is looming and I need your help.
Guide me in accomplishing what YOU would have me do and let the rest go. Show me how to prioritize so that your will becomes my will.
And guide my readers today in that, as well. Especially at this time of year, it is so easy to get caught up in busy-ness. Show us all what YOU intend for us to do for your glory and empower us to drop the rest.
Thank you, Lord.
