For Sunday, our reading is Matthew Chapter 8.
When it is time to read, please try to clear your reading area of all distractions. Close your eyes and talk with God.
As we have the first 6 days, thank Him first for the blessings that He has given you. Thank Him for the big stuff and the little stuff.
Next, present your requests to Him.
(We’re going to add to this routine next week, but stick with this for now.)
After you have thanked Him and asked Him for whatever you want to ask of Him, then ask Him to guide you through your reading so that His message to you will be clear.
Today, rather than hearing from me, Samantha Kelley of The Kelley Eight, who is one of our Blogging Through the Bible in 90 Days/ Bible in 90 Days mentors, is sharing her SOAP observations from Matthew 8.
You can learn more about the SOAP method here.
Here is what Sam heard:
I Choose Christ
Scripture: Matthew 8:34
“And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.”
Observation:
They begged Jesus to leave! They had no care for what He had just done for the demon-possessed men, they only cared about the loss of their property. It wasn’t just a few, all the city came!
Application:
If I choose the world, (possessions) and the things that it can offer, I am doing the same thing. I pray there is never a time in my life where I reject Christ as these people did. What a blessing they missed!
Prayer:
Father in heaven, keep my eyes and heart fixed on Your Son. Keep me always aware of the things around me that can get in my path. Help me to never choose anything in this world over your eternal home that you have prepared. Amen.
Sam is a happily wed, stay at home mother of 6. She can be found on her blog, The Kelley Eight, where she shares thoughts about home education, the Christian walk, homemaking, and maintaining weight loss success.

Feel free to leave your thoughts, or a link to post with your thoughts, in the comments. If you do link a post, please include a link in your own post back to this post so your readers can see what others had to say, as well, and potentially join us.
