Scripture: Job 35:6-7
6If you sin, how does that affect him?
If your sins are many, what does that do to him?
7If you are righteous, what do you give to him,
or what does he receive from your hand?
Observation: My actions will not give or take away from God. He is much more powerful than that. He needs nothing from me.
Application: The above may be true, but that does not mean that he does not care about my actions. I am still instructed to follow his commands. In following his commands I should do so because I am instructed, not for personal gain.
Prayer: Lord, you are all powerful. And yet you want to be in communion with me. You need nothing from me, yet you ask for my obedience. And how comforting is it that you can rule this world without us… you do not rely on the possibility of human error, and because of that, we can rely completely on your perfection.
Thank you, Lord for being in control. Guide me in following your guidance and following your commands so that I can be an instrument for you. That would be an honor.
