Today’s Reading: Numbers 8:15- Numbers 21:7
My apologies for posting this so late in the day. I just finished my reading about 45 minutes ago and then helped get the kids to bed.
Today was a busy day. I heard from two Bible in 90 Days grads who offered to jump on board as mentors, as well as from a few of you who are mentor-less (good combination of emails, eh?). I also had a fantastic meeting at church about a project I am working on there that helps people serve as missionaries via the internet to people all over the world seeking Christ. (Cool, huh? I’ll be writing about that more in the coming weeks, but you can check it out here, if you just can’t wait.) And then, of course there was the regular mom stuff.
But, before I wind down for bed, here’s a little SOAP:
Scripture: Numbers 14:8-9
8If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. 9Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”
Observation: If God is with us He will see us through.
Application: I love this.
I love how these two men kept their focus on the Lord and didn’t get distracted. Sure, the other guys might have been huge and terrifying. But Joshua and Caleb knew that their god, the God, was bigger and could be on their side.
Prayer: Lord, when I get distracted by what I see right here in the world and fear grips me, please bring this passage to my mind.
You are bigger than any boogie man (Oops… I’ve got that Veggie Tales song in my head now.) And you will see me through. I just have to have faith. And that faith has to be big enough to trust completely, even if I don’t understand what is going on.
I love you, Lord. And I definitely want to be on your team and have you on my side. Thanks for seeing me through.
