Bible in 90 Days begins TOMORROW!

One more day until we make our way through the entire Bible in just 90 days, tweeting, blogging, praying and encouraging every step of the way!

Fortunately our program has reached far and wide and we have more than 700 readers signed up to read with us.

Unfortunately, we cannot place any more readers into mentor groups at this time. Readers are still welcome to sign up and read with us, and we will still be praying for you, but, for now at least, we cannot place you in a group with a mentor. I am working through alternate ideas, but cannot make any promises.

Click over here to learn more about the Bible in 90 Days/ Blogging Through the Bible in 90 Days program and to follow the link to sign up.

If you signed up before 2:06 p.m. today (EST) you will hear from a mentor within the next few days, or by Wednesday, January 5. Then, beginning tomorrow, please swing by the check in post here on MomsToolbox to check in and introduce yourself to your fellow group members.

Follow this link for more details on the tools designed to help you get your reading done each day.

And, to get ready, start thinking about what you will be giving up to make the time to read every day. The reading will take about an hour to an hour and a half each day, depending on your reading speed and the content.

So… what do you think you will be giving up or taking out to add in the reading to your schedule? Let us know (and I promise it WILL be worth it!!)

  1. I just finished my first reading. I got up at 6 and it took me just less than an hour to complete. Not bad, but I probably need to get up at 5:30 to make sure my daughter doesn’t wake up early to disrupt me. This day was fairly simple to get through since the stories are familiar, but I can see some challenges peeking up very soon.

  2. Oops, just checked my email again. Sorry about that…

  3. I will be giving up a bit of sleep so I can get up a little earlier and read before working out. If I don’t finish in the morning I will read during my siesta and before bed, rather than reading novels.

I signed up ages ago but haven’t heard from a mentor….Should I keep waiting or did my application get sucked into cyber-space.

I just heard about this and my husband and I are joining. I know you are full but we need to find the schedule of reading. Where do we find this?

  5. Probably the first thing that will go is my blog reading. If I’m finished with my Bible reading, then I’ll allow myself to do some blog reading.

  6. I’m sure that I will be giving-up some “nap time” during the day as well as computer time. These are the only things I can think of at the present time. I won’t really know until I actually start digging into the challenge!

Also, did you receive me email to confirm that I want to be part of the challenge? I sent it in late (like today). Sorry I took so long to reply. :(

  7. I’ll be giving up some sleep time and computer time once my classes start up again. UNtil then I really won’t have to give up anything.

  8. I am planning on getting up early to get it finished in the morning. I usually try to that but here recently my babys schedule has been off so I’ve been catching sleep when I can, hopefully she will cooperate. Right now she is my biggest struggle to getting anything done.

  9. I’m a summer 2010 grad now mentoring a great group of ladies for this session. I’m so excited for them to get started, and just want to reaffirm that the sacrifices you will make (and there will be some) for this program will be worth it!

  10. Extra time wasted on the computer will be the first thing cut out, maybe this will be the start of two good habits. :)

  11. I will be giving up some sleep since I will be doing my reading in the am before work when everyone is still asleep and the house is quiet. :)

  12. I will probably be giving up a little sleep (because I plan on getting up early to read) and I might have to sacrifice some of my Book Club readings. I’m hoping I can manage it all, but if I have to make a choice between the two, I will choose my Bible readings.

Ill be giving up fiction reading in evening and staying up later. But I am so excited to do this with some great sister friends!

  14. I’m setting aside my normal bible study in the morning while I go through the Bible. I also plan on squeezing in some reading time throughout the day when ever I have a minute to spare.

  15. I will be giving up wasting time on Facebook and Twitter…I’ll still connect with my friends, but now more hour or more of just surfing around at night!

  16. I’m going to be getting up early in the morning before the kids to get my reading done. I am excited to get started! Great way to start the day and perfect motivation to get up and moving before I “have” to. =]

  17. I am also giving up fiction and other reading, as much to free up time as to really focus on hearing from God. I hope to get the bulk of my reading done in the morning and then hit it again during afternoon rest time and before bed, if needed. Really excited to start!

Instead of sleeping in, in the morning, I will be getting up at 5:30 to get my reading done.. I think that is the only way for me, b/c once the kids are up, I will have too many distractions.

I usually get up by 5am to do farm chores and get ready to go to school and teach. This is also my time for Facebook and blog reading-I’ll be giving this up for the Bible reading time, so I should hae about 30-45 minutes. I have some quiet time after school in my classroom which is great for me-that’s when I often catch up on professional journals, so I can also use this time. And-if I still need time-I can try in the evening after dinner and chores. No children at home-just my husband and lots of animals!

  20. It’s tomorrow already in Australia so I’m off and running. It sure was a great way to start the day.

  21. I will probably do it like I did last January. I will get up half an hour earlier than I usually do, so I can get a headstart on it, and be done by the time my kids get up. And if all else fails (as it sometimes did) I carry my Bible everywhere so I can grab some time as it crops up! :)

  22. I already don’t watch tv so I’ll be giving up other reading, or at least reading fewer books than normal. I’m so excited to have a couple of friends at church doing the challenge with me this time.

Thanks for all you do, Amy!

  23. I am planning on getting up earlier than usual. If I don’t get it all finished before kiddos start waking up, I’ll finish at lunch time. I started this last year, but we had a major move in the middle of it and I never finished. I’m looking forward to completing it this year.

  24. I too will actually be getting up early instead of staying in bed until the kids get up. I also watch tv in bed at night, so if I don’t get my reading finished in the mornings, I will be using that time to get the rest of the day’s reading in.

I am so excited to start this adventure!

  25. I plan on getting up earlier in the morning. I also stay up late and read before I go to bed, so I’ll read the bible then instead of fiction. I also have a bible app on my iPhone that has the 90 day plan on it, so it’ll make it easy to read where ever I am.

  26. I’ve just completed my first day reading (‘down under’ we’re a little ahead of most of you). I’ve noted down three verses I want to check up on. I’m really not giving up anything, just getting out of bed a little earlier.

  27. I’m not giving anything up ;o) My dog gets me up pretty early each morning for his walk. So rather than going back to bed once I’m done walking him, I’ll be staying up to read the Bible! He generally gets up around 4:00am – 4:30am. It’ll be an early start to my day, but it will be worth it!

  28. Actually I will be giving up sleep, but not in a bad way. My hubby goes to work at 5:45 AM and I dont have to get up until 6:45 to get 1 child off to school and staying home with other 2. So 5:45 AM will the perfect quiet, alone time I need to really read and devote to understanding. In reality I will be giving up internet reading from 10:30-11 so I can go to bed earlier.

  29. I’m committing to reading it by lunch each day! I’m sure that I will be giving up my late night TV shows to make it up in time to accomplish all I need to before lunch, plus an hour of Bible time. But it’s SOOOO worth it :) I’m really excited!

  30. I will give up all T.V., other books (parenting, spiritual growth, etc) and reading blogs unless I have finished my Bible reading and I still have time. I’m sure I will also be staying up late and getting up earlier to make sure I get my bible reading done and my daily stuff done =)

  31. I will be getting up at least an hour before my little ones to read and drink my coffee. I think this will help with the whole day as we start back home school tomorrow as well. Praying God’s richest blessing on ALL the readers and mentors!!!
    Blessings and Joy!!!

  32. I’m going to be replacing my regular fiction reads with the Bible. I’ve got some magazines to fill in the gaps if I happen to finish all my Bible reading for the day and want to read something else. But I’ve purposefully planned it so I don’t have any fiction reads that will pull my attention.

  33. I can’t wait to start tomorrow! I usually watch tv in bed for quite a while before I go to sleep so I will be cutting that out to do my Bible reading…what I should have been doing all along!
