I hope each of you is starting strong and committing to not give up. When I went to sleep last night, we were at 893 readers.

893 people who together are reading the word of God in its entirety in just 90 days. 893 people aren’t meeting face to face and who don’t even ‘know’ each other… yet 893 people who long to know our God better. And will, through diligence, commitment, prayer, encouragement and love.

Start strong. Don’t make excuses for not reading. Just open your Bible and read. He gave you the gift of time. How are you going to use it?

Today’s reading: Genesis 17:1- Genesis 28:19.

  2. I am getting ready to complete Day 3. I read in the mornings before the day actually starts (and others wake up) :) and this helps me get the right mind set for the whole day.

  3. Wow! 893? Can you believe it?

Today’s reading was great!! I just love this!

  5. 10pm est. Just completed Day2. I am really enjoying this. It’s bringing new focus and purpose to my life. Thank you.

  6. It’s funny how many pockets of time I’ve been able to see–even today when I completed my reading before breakfast. I’m looking at my entire day differently now. I felt accomplished and plugged in, and it was great!

  7. This has encouraged me to read my Bible on a daily basis.

  8. I would have to say I’m loving this challenge. Even when I’m tired and have a million things to do I find I am stopping and sitting down and reading the days readings. I’ve already discovered God is working inside me to make sure I get closer to him.

Last night my son was up and down all night long sick as a dog but I still managed to finish my reading. Praise God.

  9. Finished the reading this morning! Keep up the good work, ladies!

I have read up until chapter 24 and will finish the remaining reading for day 2. I’m finding it easy to read large sections, much to my surprise. It really brings everything together much more clearer. I must admit of reading things that I had forgotten, or not paid attention to in the past. Some of the things done by Heroes of the past are quite crazy! I’m not in an accountability group, but plan on posting here often as well as blogging about my SOAP’s soon. Thank you for such a inspiring resource and network of encouragement and accountability!

  11. My SOAP for the day: “It’s OKAY to be hungry”

Jacob said, “Make me a trade: my stew for your rights as the firstborn.” Esau said, “I’m starving! What good is a birthright if I’m dead?” Jacob said, “First, swear to me.” And he did it. On oath Esau traded away his rights as the firstborn. Jacob gave him bread and the stew of lentils. He ate and drank, got up and left. That’s how Esau shrugged off his rights as the firstborn. Genesis 25:31-34

LOVE your site and your posts- they are so encouraging to all of us. I wanted to share a new application that was shared with me over the holidays. Children’s Bible.org is where you can find it, but we have found it to be a really neat way to get our children started off on the right foot with reading the Bible. Designed for children 3-13 the comics cover & share the most important stories from the Bible. Our kids love it & I just had to pass along to other young Christian moms. Thanks for all you share with us & happy New Year!

    1. I’ll have to go take a look. Thanks for the tip!

  16. keep it up everyone! its *only* 12 or so pages—we do that on the internet every day! all day long!

When I read that there are 893 readers, it brought tears to my eyes and I immediately began praying for this group. Thank you, Amy, so very much!

    1. Thank YOU for your prayers!

  18. I had no idea there was even a sign up or anything for the read! I wish I had known about it sooner, because really this is an awesome set up, challenge, idea, way to grow spiritually.
Anyway, I’m one of the lone wolves with out an accountability group or anything. However, that’s okay! I’m excited for the discipline of this and knowing that there’s so many other people participating is encouragement enough! ^_^

    1. Keep to it… I’m glad you are still reading even though you are a ‘lone wolf.’ You aren’t alone, though.. I’m still praying for you!! :)

  19. Tried to start the day reading…school and kids had a different plan…I know what I am doing when all is in bed!

    1. Try to read a bit through the day, too if you can… you don’t want to get too tired tonight!

  20. I’m looking forward to today’s reading! I love the story of Abraham and his faith!

I brought my bible to school this morning hoping to get a little reading done. Well… not happening yet, I’m still hoping I can read some on my planning time. I invited a friend to join B90days, gave her the webside and the schedule. She is currently doing the yearly bible read but said she would check it out.

  22. Gen 22: 9-12. God requesting Abraham sacrifice his son, then stopping him.
To have enough faith in God that you would do what ever he may ask of you.
I only pray I could have an ounce of faith as strong as Abraham. Its truly amazing to see how much faith and trust we could have in God, the potential is there. But we are scared. I pray for more strength and faith.

  23. 8:45 am, just completed day 2’s reading!! My SOAP for today Genesis 19:16 (Amplified Bible)
16But while he lingered, the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, for the Lord was merciful to him; and they brought him forth and set him outside the city and left him there.

**God is so merciful to take us by the hand when it is needed and lead us away from what isn’t good for us and towards HIM, safety, peace, joy and more!!**

  24. I have completed day 2! It is such a blessings to sit and read God’s word!!! Thank you for the opportunity!
    Blessings and Joy!

    1. Fantastic! I am thankful you are reading with us!

  25. Count me in too Amy. Last night seeing the enthusiasm on twitter really encouraged me. When I started in Dec I only got through Genesis, but that’s only four days! So I think I’ll give it another whirl. I believe with the encouragement of the others I may have a better chance at making progress. Thank you so much for your service to our Lord Jesus.
    Mike
