Welcome Bible in 90 Days/ Blogging Through the Bible in 90 Days participants! I am thrilled that you decided to join us in reading every word of the Bible between now and October 5.
If you are up to date, you should have read to page 96 in the Bible in 90 Days Bible or to Leviticus 14:32.
At the end of this post I will invite to share your progress with us. Please leave a comment letting us know where you are in the reading, whether you are caught up, racing to catch up or even feeling a bit frustrated. For more on check-in posts, please see this post. Bloggers, you are invited to share your progress with a comment or a link to your own blog post in the linky.
Now, on to a a message from Ted Cooper, who created the Bible in 90 Days program after reading the Bible in 90 Days himself and becoming a Christian as a result…
How exciting is this? Amy reports that over 500 of you are joining MomsToolBox.com in reading the entire Bible this summer. Imagine how each of you will be impacted… and how then you will be able to impact your family, friends and churches.
What you are doing is simple, in concept: reading God’s Word… all of it… from cover to cover… like we do a novel.
It is the bestselling book EVER. So it makes sense for us to read it. And, it seems very likely that the Author meant for us to experience ALL of it – not just bits and pieces of it.
So, congratulations for finding this online community, a group with which to share this foundational experience.
As you progress along this journey, please know that our ministry is here to support you throughout, both with FREE resources and others that are LOW COST.
You see, Bible in 90 Days is a ministry that is determined to help people read – attentively – every word of the Bible. And, so far we’ve helped churches, organizations, small groups and individuals in 49 states and 16 countries do just that.
Here are just some of the FREE ways we can help you:
* B90 Daily Message – A daily email is sent to you during the reading period to keeps you on track with: the reading schedule, words of encouragements, verses to ponder, community resources and more. Sign up: http://visitor.constantcontact.com/d.jsp?m=1102593140129&p=oi
* Listen While You Read – Having the Scriptures read to you while you follow along in the Bible is a rich multi-sensory experience. For those of us who are slow readers — or tend to backtrack when reading — it also helps us maintain a steady pace. Sign up: http://www.biblein90days.org/listenwhileyouread/
IMPORTANT: You can hear Jack Modesett’s weekly lessons from the Listen While You Read section. You’ll be glad you listened.
* B90 Message Forums (Brand New)– Tell us what YOU think about your reading, as you HELP US inaugurate this new feature on our site. You might even want to become one of our volunteer moderators. Sign up: http://forums.biblein90days.org/ ·
Here are some LOW COST ways we can help:
* The Bible in 90 Days Bible – There are many good Bibles out there; you may even have several on your bookshelf. But MOST of them are NOT well suited to reading from cover to cover in 90 days. Often, the print is too small… or the translation is wonderful in small doses (but not large)… or there are great sidebars and footnotes that detract from the reading. We strongly encourage you to use the B90 Bible on your journey. If cost is the issue, please apply for a scholarship from us. We are a tiny ministry, but we want you to have a great experience journeying through God’s Word.
* The Bible in 90 Days Leader’s Kit – Our curriculum and resources have helped groups as small as TWO people to more than 1000 people read the entire Bible in community. The Leader’s Kit includes: The Leader’s Guide, weekly lessons on DVDs, The Participant’s Guide, The Essential Bible Companion, the Bible, and additional resources to help you market the course within your church or community. The curriculum is designed so that leaders need only FACILITATE. No knowledge of the Bible is necessary (though it is certainly welcome).
Finally, if there’s something that can help you on this journey that we aren’t yet supplying, please let us know. We want to help as many people as possible have this foundational Christian experience.
Okay, readers, let us know how you are doing! We want to pray for you! If you are participating in the linky, don’t forget to link back to this post in your own post so your readers can read more about the program.
And don’t forget to join us tonight on Twitter from 8-9 CST using the #B90Days hashtag.
The linky and comments will close at 2 a.m. Monday night/Tuesday morning.

Behind, but hanging in there.
I was nervous this week and happy how well it went. I fell behind on Saturday but made it up on Sunday! Did great today! Keep going everyone!
I’ve fallen behind a bit, but I’m trying to catch up.
im on track. it was hard reading in Exodus, but i made it. i thought it was very interesting on what you can eat and what is not clean.
trying to catch up! hope to tomorrow :)
I am on track, although today’s reading was difficult for me to get through.
All caught up on my reading! LOVING this journey : )
I am caught up with my reading.
I have fallen behind. I am three days behind. It is easier read on weekdays. I hope to catch up this week.
I am on track – about halfway through today’s reading and will finish later tonight. My Bible study group is working through Kay Arthur’s Precept upon Precept study of Leviticus, so I’m finding today’s section very familiar and feel like I understand it. It feels great to be working our way so quickly through Scripture – seeing the ‘big picture’ already!
Working on today’s reading now! I am staying on track and loving it so far. I think having a bigger challenge actually makes me more likely to live up to it! One thing that has been hard is giving up my idea of what my time with God looks like. In my head I have this very pretty picture of me sitting down in a comfy chair in a quiet room with my cup of coffee and reading until I’m done. Well- that is darn near impossible in my real life!! I finally got it through my head that the READING is what’s important, not what it looks like. In reality, I am reading a chapter here and there on my phone instead of wasting that time on facebook or playing silly games. This has been great for me and I am excited to follow through for the next 83 days! :)
I’m on track – about to read today’s passage. So cool that in 7 days I read Genesis and Exodus! This is truly getting fun! Don’t have time for a post this week – I’ll get one up when I can.
Thankfully, I am caught up! I fell behind for a day, and then the last part of Exodus really bogged down my mind with all of the details, and repetition. Leviticus is going better. I am really excited about this!
I am a couple of days behind due to an illness. Hoping to be caught up by tomorrow.
I made it!! I’m so excited that even though I started two days late, I have officially caught up. Phew. Maybe the daily reading won’t seem like so much now! :) Praise God for His help in doing this!
Well I’d like to say I’m all caught up. I’m trying to catch up. I’m just finishing up Genesis. I’m determined to catch up.
I have fallen behind but hoping (and praying ;-)) to catch up the next couple of days.
On track; myself, mom and 4 kids. My teens read alone and mom listens with me and 7 & 8 yo. Last few days has been dull for little ones but they listen. My 7 yo son even asked me this am if we could listen to the Bible more. (I play dramatized NIV for them while I read along in my Bible). They kids are listening, questioning and discussing! It’s wonderful. I even heard my little two acting out stuff we’d read in their play. :)
I am just a touch behind. About halfway through today’s reading, but certain I will catch myself up tomorrow! This is such a blessing!!
I just got done with today’s reading. I was 3 days ahead and then went on a CRAZY family reunion. Today’s reading was hard since I’m trying to get caught up on sleep, but reading several times for 10-15 minutes got it done.
I’m a couple of days behind but on track to catch up. :o)
So far so good. I am caught up. The reading the past 3 days has been a little rough, but I am enduring!
I hope everyone had a great first week. I started the 90 Day Challenge on the first day of our vacation. I was worried at first, but have found quiet times to spend in prayer and God’s Word. I even had the perfect amount of time to read Exodus on a ferry trip! So far, I’m current on the reading.
I look forward to a routine soon and getting to know my fellow readers!
Uh-oh. I’m behind (I’m currently on day 5). We have been travelling to see family in different places since Thursday. Things should settle down soon, though. I’m fighting that feeling of racing to catch up. . .
I’m on Day 10 trying to stay ahead so I don’t fall behind during upcoming vacations!
I am a four pages behind. Hope to catch up when I read tonight. I want to be caught up and not behind. My husband is a few pages behind but will catch up tonight. It is so good to read the Bible together.
I am current with my reading. Need work at getting my blogging done more timely. But the blogging helps me to read more into the words.
Hi I am one day behind. I am going to keep going. I guess that is one of my two days of grace. Enjoying it! Mandi
I’m going to admit that I glossed over a bit when the rules started being repeated, but still read every word. It’s very specific, isn’t it?
Still reading though, and learning a lot!
[…] you’re interested in joining me, you can read this week’s post here to get caught up. […]
I found out about the challenge a day late. I was a little nervous about signing up for it because my sister is getting married in a week so things are a little crazy around here for a while. I’m so glad I decided to go for it. I read like crazy for the first couple of days, so now I’m actually ahead 2 days. I know I will use those days up in the week to come! So glad to be done with Leviticus! That book has always tripped me up in the past when I’ve tried to read through the Bible.
I am very close to finishing today’s reading. I’m off to do it now. I have a lot of mixed feelings about reading it the 2nd time around. For some reason, I feel emotional about it…
I have yet to blog about this, so I’m just going to comment for now~ I tend to read at night on my touch, and last night for the first time I fell asleep before finishing. I’m catching up tonight, tho, and plan to read tonight’s portion as well.
Having not focused on the books of the law as much, it is amazing to read what was required of the Jews! Boy am I glad that I am not met daily/monthly/yearly with a need for a blood sacrifice. Thank you, Jesus~
I am caught up as of tonight! Started a couple days late and had to make up for that! Listening in on twitter ;)
I’m on track with the reading, although the last two days have been difficult to get through! I still haven’t heard from my mentor though…
I’m on vacation this week so my blog post will be late. I’m one day behind but I don’t think that’s too bad for being on vacation.
I’m falling behind! I’m leaving my reading til late in the day and then I’m not getting through the whole reading for the day. Today I followed the advice of carrying my Bible with me throughout the day and reading every chance I get and I’m doing better. I’m still behind but hopefully I’ll catch up as I continue carrying my Bible around and reading whenever I get a chance.
Trying to check in from my phone tonight, we had some pretty bad storms earlier and my internet is out for who knows how long! I’m still right on track with the daily reading, but I haven’t yet heard from my mentor.
So far, so good! I have been current until today (I had jury duty and reading my Bible was very hard sitting in a noisy room – I really need quiet) so tomorrow I plan on getting up earlier so that I can get a head start and catch back up before I have to report. I have loved my time each day and look forward to all that this experience will bring! It is amazing how God provides the time to do the other things on your list when you make time to be with Him!
I am 2 days behind but just in the last 2 days because I got sick…but I have big plans to catch up tonight! Really enjoying the reading so far!
I am very behind. Hoping to catch up soon. :)
I am really enjoying my reading. I am half way through day ten. I am having company next week for a week. I don’t know what our schedule will be like so I thought I better get ahead while I could. I didn’t hear from a mentor yet, but I imagine that they are extremely busy tryign to get to us all.
I am a day behind but hope to catch up tonight.
I’m a little behind — I haven’t done today’s reading yet, and I’m not quite finished with yesterday’s reading. Honestly, I was dreading reading the parts of Exodus with all of the details about the Temple and its appointments, and all of the various offerings, so that probably has something to do with it. However, considering that I spent all weekend preparing our house for our first tenants (Hallelujah, thank you Jesus that we have renters!), I feel pretty good about it. I should be caught up before I go to sleep tonight. It’s exciting to see that I am already in Leviticus after just one week!
Oh no I am a little behind!! I am going to do my best to catch up by tomorrow :)
I’m on track so far this week! Woohoo! I’m reading during my kids’ nap/quiet time. :-) Reminded again on how thankful I am for the new covenant!
All is well here – I am LOVING keeping my journal of names and attributes of God. I would have never thought I could have used encouragement from the book of Exodus for someone – but a friend whose husband is near death after a bicycling hit and run accident has been the recipient of some truths God is showing me even in the Pentatuch. And I grew up in the church and have read the Bible through at least 10 times – I love how God’s is always showing us new things about Himself, or just reminding us of things we know!!!
I am caught up. I was having a little trouble keeping focused today. Some of it was hard to get through but I feel good that I pressed on.
I am right on track and am truly loving every minute of this experience! I am pleased to say that I find myself thinking about various verses and biblical content I have read all throughout the day and sometimes even at night when I am asleep and dreaming, I am still thinking about the day’s readings (I guess no one can have enough Bible study time). I have also found that I am already able to share more in-depth knowledge with my children when certain questions about the Bible are asked and this is just the first week of reading! I am excited to see where this journey continues to lead and positively enhance my life. Blessings to all of you in your journey!
Wowza! I am on track- the weekend threw me off a little {I shouldn’t blame the weekend, I did it to myself- I should make the time!} but I am going strong into week #2! Praying for everyone who is reading along :)
