Last week Andrea, our Group 10 Mentor, sent out an email to her group explaining that she needed a bit of a ‘kick in the skirt.’
Here’s what she had to say…
I admit it. I am behind.
I started out SO well. Even pulled ahead several days at one point, so that I could have some “breathing room.”
Well, gals, the breathing room is gone and I find myself 4-1/2 days behind now.
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? I am very disappointed with myself.
I could blame it on the fact that this weekend was my birthday. And not just ANY birthday, it was my 40th birthday.
I could also blame it on the Super Bowl. Doggone it, my Steelers were playing. (Please let’s not discuss it, I may fall into further sadness. . . LOL! :))
I could blame it on the fact that my husband is helping out at another church and is gone ALL DAY SUNDAY (my usual catch-up day). The responsibilities of the kids by myself, etc.
I could blame it on the fact that my present for my aforementioned birthday, an iPhone, came in yesterday and I HAD to get it setup.
I could blame it on the fact that I have been quite sick lately.BUT (and it’s a big one)
There is NO ONE or NO THING to blame but me.
I have gotten LAZY about my reading. Instead of taking the Kindle with me everywhere (even to the restroom), I got confident about MY ability to “get ‘er done” and forgot to rely on the only ONE Who can make me want to read the Word.
So for those of us who are behind, those who are struggling, those who are on target, those who are ahead, those who are about to throw in the towel… please don’t get discouraged. Let’s do this together!
Let’s do it, in HIS power, and for HIS glory.
Are you with me?
I am happy to report that Andrea is all caught up now! Waaa-Hoooooo! She set her mind and her heart to it and she pulled right where she needed to be.
So anyone else out there like Andrea? Any other great ‘come from behind’ stories to share? Please leave them here in the comments or share them in our BlogFrog Community… but please don’t forget to check in with your group, too.
If you are feeling very far behind, read some of these stories and pray about catching up. Then take that time and make it happen. Even if you feel like you are reading ‘just to read,’ you WILL get something out of it. His Word will not return void. He will stir you when and where you need stirring. But that cannot happen if you aren’t in His Word.

Tweet up!
There will NOT be a #B90Days Twitter party tonight. It has been moved to TOMORROW NIGHT, Tuesday, February 15.
Follow MomsToolbox on Twitter and join us TOMORROW NIGHT from 8-9 CST to chat about the reading, meet other readers and encourage each other for an hour of fast-paced conversation. Be sure to add #B90Days to your tweets and follow that hashtag so you don’t miss a message. I use TweetChat.com to help me keep track of the conversation and respond more easily.
Your Twitter party hostesses for tomorrow’s tweet up are Samantha and CardamomsPod. Be sure to follow them and look for their tweets.
Feel free to tweet about your progress on Twitter and encourage others anytime by tweeting with the #B90days hashtag. Then look for other tweets with the same hashtag and pray for and encourage those tweeters. (Using HootSuite or TweetDeck and opening a column for #B90Days helps to find those tweets.)
