Guest SOAP post from Sam.
The reading for Thursday is Luke 9:1-27 .
Here is what Sam heard:
Scripture: Luke 9:5
“And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
Observation:
Not everyone is willing to hear the Good News, even the apostles of Christ faced rejection. The hearer is responsible for what he does with the message he is given.
Application:
Instead of feeling down when we are rejected, we need to remember to shake the dust off and keep sharing the message of Christ. We must also keep in mind that they are not rejecting us, but Christ Himself, and that prayers for a softened heart are needed.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to be a faithful messenger of your Word. Keep in my heart to always think of souls first, and to keep hurt feelings at bay. Please help me to gain knowledge so that I can share with others your wonderful message. Help me to carry your Word to as many souls as I can, to shake off the dust and keep going.
Sam is a happily wed, stay at home mother of 6. She can be found on her blog, The Kelley Eight, where she shares thoughts about home education, the Christian walk, homemaking, and maintaining weight loss success.
