Good Morning!
Are you reading the Bible with me and the rest of the MomsToolbox community?
Here’s our Daily SOAP Devotion reading for today:
Acts 2
My biggest takeaway from today’s reading is that I need to listen and let Him set my priorities.
Here’s what I heard using the SOAP Devotional Method:
Scripture: Acts 2:42
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Observation:
The focus of their lives was being together, learning about God and living the life He instructed.
Application:
Uh. Wow. That sounds pretty simple to me. It also sounds beautiful.
So often I feel pulled in a million directions. I want to do so much. I feel obligated to do even more. What is important? It sounds like this fellowship of believers lived with the right focus, or at least they did at this time.
How can I find that focus and live more they did? Sure, it might look a little different now, but He can guide me to see how I can achieve the right focus instead of following too many distractions. he can guide me to see what being together, learning about God and living the life He instructed means.
Prayer:
Father God, please guide me. I want to simplify. I want to do what you have set out for me to do. I know that my work, VineSleuth as well as this MomsToolbox, and my work as a wife and mom can all be done to your glory. You have shown me the value and worth in each of those areas and how they are all serving you. Please help me to sift through all the extra tasks and jobs associated with each and do just those things which you intend for me to do. I need your guidance to live that way. Please help me.
Thank you for this reminder of how I am to live.. and that you can help.
What about you?
I’d love to know how today’s reading impacted you. Are you up for sharing in the comments of this post and/ or tweeting it out using #SOAPDevo?
