So, if you’ve read anything here lately you probably noticed that I kind of like the whole advent calendar idea.
I have mine up and I’ve been opening and following each day’s suggestion: praying, reading, doing things with the family. And feeling a little proud of myself.
This morning my 7-year-old asked me when we were going to start the advent calendar.
Huh?
It didn’t occur to me to tell him WHY we were doing the things we were doing (I mean, aside from the whole birth of Baby Jesus thing) or let him pull the ideas out of the days with me… or even read the things to him.
Nope. I’ve just been plugging away, not sharing my cute little calendar that he’s watched on my wall, just wondering when Mom was going to share.
What a loser I feel like!
Okay, tomorrow morning, we will read the assignment at breakfast. And advent away!
