1 cup corn meal 1 cup buttermilk
1 cup flour 2 eggs beaten
½ cup sugar 2 Tblsp butter melted
½ tsp salt
1 Tblsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
If you don’t have buttermilk, put 1 tblsp cider vinegar in regular milk
- Mix corn meal, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda.
- Add eggs, melted butter and buttermilk.
- Pour in greased 9×9 baking dish. Bake at 350 until done (30 min).
I often use whole grain corn meal and flour. It makes it pretty heavy.
This is not sweet corn bread. If you want it sweeter, you can increase the sugar.
