I love to use storage containers in my pantry. (And, well, pretty much anywhere else in the house, too.)
But sometimes it’s tough to tell what’s inside of those containers. And I certainly don’t want to confuse the sea salt with the sugar.
At first I used a fancy schmancy label maker to make everything look all nice and pretty. But then I ran out of tape and fell in love with a different type of tape: masking tape!
Using masking tape and a good ‘ol Sharpie makes labeling (and finding) anything in my pantry a snap. Plus, when the contents of a container change, it’s easy to change the label. And I can add Weight Watcher points to each container just as easily.
Masking tape has made its way out of my pantry and into the rest of the house, as well. All the art supply containers are labeled with masking tape… it’s easy to switch when I need a change and it’s helping the kids to put the words together with the supplies.
When we travel I often bring a roll and a Sharpie with me for labeling on the fly for kids clubs or indicating whose toy is whose.
But, back to the kitchen: I couldn’t use those storage containers without my masking tape. The pre-printed stickers never cover everything I want and then what happens when you wash? Masking tape is cheap, easy and very versatile. It works for me!
