Memories to Share: Memory #2

memories-to-share-post

Thank you for joining me on my series, Memories to Share. It is my hope this series will guide you in recording family stories and personal memories to share with loved ones, as well as help you to ask others to collect Memories to Share with you someday.

Week 2’s prompt is:

Tell about religion in your childhood. Is religion important to you now? Why? If so, when did it become important?

Here’s a glimpse into the beginning of my story:

As a child, Christmas was much more about Santa Claus than Jesus, and when we went, church felt more like a fashion show than worship.  When I hit middle school, a friend of mine invited me to go to church and youth group with her and that was when I began to really get to know Jesus. I am thankful to her for inviting me and I am thankful the church had such an engaging program. In my adult years, that relationship blossomed. I often wonder what happened to Anna, but know I’ll be able to thank her one day in Eternity.

What is your story?

Sure, this could be a huge question and it is my sincere hope that you have volumes of faith experiences to record and share. Record some of those examples here and share what role God plays in your life. I know my great-grandmother read her Bible and prayed daily. I wish I knew more of her faith stories and what she prayed about.

Download and print  this week’s Memories to Share sheet and record your story for your family to read when the time is right. Or share it tonight over dinner. You may also share here in the comments, if you’d like.
