Ya gotta love moms.
I had set a fundraising goal of $2,000 for this year’s MS 150. Last year I raised more, but I decided to be a bit conservative this year, with the economy the way it is. (Not that MS knows anything about the economy, but I digress.)
I’ve been receiving emails from family and friends and the MS Society, letting me know who would be praying for me, who would be thinking of me and who had contributed financially.
Just a bit ago I got a note from the MS Society alerting me of a contribution of a strange amount: $81. It was listed as from my mom.
My parents are big on symbolism, but I couldn’t figure out what 81 could stand for. I finally had a hunch so I logged on to my MS 150 participant page and figured it out… That set me $1 over my goal.
And that would be just like my parents… to give, support and push just a tad. Not until I reach a goal, but help me to push a bit past it.
Thanks, Mom and Dad.
And thank you to everyone else who contributed to the MS 150-whether it be in support of me or anyone else riding. Your contributions will certainly be put to good use.
And, also, to those that are praying for me, other riders and all those impacted by MS… I cannot thank you enough, either. We need your prayers (especially with thunderstorms looming. Yikes!) Those prayers mean so much to me and are what will carry me over the finish line.
And those prayers, together with the contributions, are what is going to put an end to MS one day.
