This past Sunday I presented the devotional for a team of ladies who are hosting a women’s retreat this weekend. I have the privilege of serving with them.
I started the devotional by asking everyone to repeat a few things after me.
I thought each of us could benefit from the exercise, as well. So, go ahead, read each of these out loud, if you can:
“I’m good enough.
I’m smart enough.
and, gosh darn it, people like me!”
–Jack Handy, Saturday Night Live
And then there was this one:
“You make everything glorious and I am Yours. What does that make me?
–David Crowder Band
And then the final one
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
–Psalm 139:14
I went on to apply these words to the work our team is doing, as well as the situations we are facing.
They apply to all of us, however.
With God, you ARE good enough, smart enough, and most definitely loved– even when you don’t feel that way at all.
God DOES make everything glorious– each and every one of us… yep, you, too.. even when you don’t feel that way.
You ARE fearfully and WONDERFULLY made by HIM. He made you– on purpose, just the way you are.
Know that. OWN that. It’s true.
Thanks so much for reading this. I hope you remember these words of truth and hold them dear. Please share a link to this post with those friends who need a little oomph today… or any day. Or share it on Facebook and see whose day you brighten. I think we could all use a reminder now and then.
