I am so glad you are here with me today!
If you are reading the Proverbs with me this month, today we are on Proverbs 1. (Remembering what to read in the Proverbs is as easy as remembering the day’s date when you read them with me.) That being said:
Today’s Reading: Proverbs 1
Using the SOAP devotional method, here’s what I heard this time…
Scripture: Proverbs 1:33
“But whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.”
Observation:
If I stop and listen to the Lord’s wisdom, He will share what I need to know and calm me.
Application:
So often I get up in the morning and am off to the races solving whatever problem or challenge is next, or working my way through whatever needs to get done. Sometimes I work in dread and sometimes I work in joy.
It seems that He is reminding me that by starting my day with Him, by listening to His wisdom before letting the message of the world get me, my life will be calmer and without dread. I’m not saying everything will be perfect in my eyes, but my perspective will continually be molded so I can see what is critical and how to go about doing it.
Prayer:
Lord, as you know I often feel like my to-do list is longer than I can possibly manage. I want to do it all. And that, often brings dread. Thank you for reminding me to reach for You first this morning, before the other emails and notifications, so that I could set my perspective properly and find peace in You.
Please, Lord, keep me close to you. Help me to see your path for me. Help me to travel that path and hear your wisdom and guidance. I could sure use it!
Thank you for always calling me back and enveloping me with your hope.
I love you, Lord.
Amen.
