True Confession:
I’m off to Europe with my daughter, sister-in-law, niece and friends this week. So, since this will need to go live while we are likely to be in the air or transiting somewhere, I wrote this in advance and scheduled it. I promise I’ll read again on the flight!

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 11
Using the SOAP devotional method, here’s what I heard this time…
Scripture: Proverbs 11:25
Whoever brings blessing will be enriched,
and one who waters will himself be watered
Observation:
Those who help others and bring joy to them will also find joy and help for themselves.
Application:
This verse just sounds so much like refreshment to me.
Help others and you will be helped. Bring kindness and you will find kindness.
I was chatting with a friend last week about what so often happens when we serve others or go on a mission trip to serve. In those cases I jump into the opportunity, looking to serve others, thinking about all I have to offer. Yet, in those situations I also often see richness and beauty in those I am serving and find incredible refreshment and insight from the experience. I am always blessed when blessing others. And in watering, or bringing refreshment to those who need it, I am also very much refreshed. Helping others is definitely win-win.
Prayer:
Father God,
Thank you for bringing so much joy in serving others. Thank you for equipping us to refresh and bless others.. and for letting us see tremendous benefit to the ones we are blessing, as well as ourselves.
Show me more ways to bless others today. Guide me in sharing Your love to those around me.
Thank you for allowing us to share in the joys we bring others.
Amen.
