If you are reading with me, today we are on Proverbs 28. (Remembering what to read in the Proverbs is as easy as remembering the day’s date when you read them with me.) That being said:
Today’s Reading: Proverbs 28
Using the SOAP devotional method, here’s what I heard this time…
Scripture: Proverbs 28:26
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool,
but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
Observation:
Don’t lean on your own understanding. Seek wisdom and guidance.
Application:
Seeking His guidance and the guidance of others who are wise is a much better path to take than trying to figure everything out by myself. I need a wise team of advisors around me.
Prayer:
Lord, you know I need strong advisors around me. Please guide me as I build these teams. Help me to see those who I should invite in, and prepare their hearts and minds to want to guide me. I want to be surrounded by those whom you know are best. I need solid guidance.
Additionally, thank you, Lord, for guiding me when I ask. Thanks for this reminder to slow down and ask your guidance. It’s been pretty amazing when I’ve felt it. Help me to be a better seeker and follower of your wisdom.
Please show me how to seek your wisdom in my daily devotional once August ends. Tell me what my reading schedule should be so I can continue this amazing counsel and help others in seeking your counsel daily, too.
Thank you for your wisdom.
I love you. I am amazed by you.
In your son’s name,
Amen.
