Happy Monday, friends! I hope your Monday is off to a good start already.
I’ve been pondering this verse for a bit today already. I already posted it to Instagram, but needed more time to let it marinate before I wanted to post here. I also needed to get kids out the door, so I could only do so much!
(Guess that’s a tip– if you want the SOAP verse earlier, it’s almost always on Instagram before I post it here.”
Alrighty. Guess it’s time to get that SOAP going…
Scripture:
A friend loves at all times.
–Proverbs 17:17
Observation:
Friends remain friends in good times and bad.
Application:
Most of the time being a friend is pretty easy. Sometimes, though, it can be challenging.
True friendship isn’t only about sunshine and butterflies and happy times. It also means being honest in the hard moments, listening and sometimes even working together through tough spots.
Yes, friends help us through hard spots, but sometimes a friendship has its own rough spots. Do you abandon ship and the friendship when things get uncomfortable, or do you address what needs to be addressed?
Prayer:
This is a tough one, Father, and yet so very true.
True friends love at all times.
Thank you so much for putting friends in my life that I can turn to in times of trouble, and with whom I can talk when we disagree.
Please give as all courage and strength as we strive for true friendships– and understand the difference between true friendships and acquaintances.
Help us to make our way through the tough conversations and come out stronger on the other side.
Thank you, Father.
