Today’s reading is Acts 14.
The disciples had some challenging times! Here’s what grabbed me.
Scripture:
…He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven & crops in their seasons, he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.
–Acts 14:17
Observation:
He gives us what we need AND fills our hearts with joy.
Application:
If we let Him.
He’s offering me the gift of joy. I need to acknowledge it, receive it and embrace it.
So often I get pulled down by frustration. But, really, he’s giving me all I need. I need to chill and accept more of the joy!
Prayer:
Father God, you give me so much. And I do embrace so much of what you give me including the joy. But I also let myself get down more than I should. Please strengthen me, Lord. Help me to stay strong in my joy. Help my joy to be based on you and not fleeting things.
Thank you, Lord.
