SOAP: He’s always there when we seek

Happy Saturday!

This morning I slept in a touch and it felt great! No kids to wake for e-school, no calls to jump on, no husband heading in to the office. (His work from home experience starts Monday.)

Again I started journaling during my devo time and was led to get the laptop and share with you. I hope this inspires you in some way.

Here goes:

Scripture:

But from there, you will search for the Lord your God, and you will find him when you seek him with all your heart and all your soul.

–Deuteronomy 4:29

Observation:

At a point, you will look for him. And when you do look for him completely, in full truth, you will find Him.

Application

I love this. In the past I have seen this as completely on MY side, as in “Alright, Amy, when you REALLY, REALLY search, He and His guidance will be there, So search harder.”

Today I see it in a different light.

I see it more in love and comfort. He is there always. He is constant. Even when we waver and get distracted and pulled in other directions, He will still be there when we are really ready for Him. He knows we will hit points in our life that we will be pulled away. And He knows we will be back.

“But from there….:” Yep there will be those moments. And he will take us then and always.

Prayer:

Thank you so much, Father, for this assurance that you are always near, ready for us. You want us to search for you, to listen to you, to be guided by you, and you will be patient, waiting for the times when we are really ready to listen.

Father, I am yours. I want your guidance. I need your guidance. I am sinful and still seeking you with all of me. Show me the way. Show me the thoughts to explore and the actions to take. I know without a doubt that your way is the best way.

I trust you. I love you. I am grateful for you. I want to follow you alone. And I love that you want that for me, too and are patient always. Thank you.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
