Scripture: 2 Corinthians 2:14
But thanks be to God, who made us his captives and leads us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now wherever we go he uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Good News like a sweet perfume.
Observation: We are grateful to God who guides us and enables us to walk with Christ and spread His infectious news of joy.
Application: I love this verse. I love the part about being held captive. I want to be held captive by this great, wonderful and loving God! And to spread his news as a sweet perfume… yum! The imagery of this certainly makes me want to be a part of the ‘gang,’ spreading joy and good news in an infectious, sweet-smelling way.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for captivating me. Thank you for grabbing a hold of me with your truth and beauty and not letting me go. And thank you for empowering me to share your beauty and love with those around me. What an amazing thing to share! I am honored to be your disciple. Thank you for inviting me and enabling me. Please keep me your captive for eternity.
