Scripture: John 4:34
“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”
Observation: Jesus was nourished by doing the will of God.
Application: I am also being nourished by listening and doing my best to follow and do the work I think God intends for me to do.
No, I don’t think I do it perfectly or nearly as well as I could, but I am trying and I am praying and I am asking for His guidance. Sure, I wish I could do it perfectly… but I can’t, I don’t and I’m not going to let that stop me. If I just wait for perfection, or the perfect moment, I might never act.
Prayer: Lord, thank you so much for answering my prayer to ask you to use me.
I have been nourished so much in the ways you have allowed me to serve you.
Please continue to show me your way and continue to encourage me. Don’t let the enemy stop me and feed me lies about not being capable or organized enough or up to any challenge you send my way.
I want to hear only you and serve only you in the way you want me to serve you.
And please, Lord, empower those others who want to serve you but don’t know how. Guide them in hearing your word and your will and in acting in ways inspired by you.
