Today’s reading is Acts 8.
Here’s what grabbed me:
Scripture:
Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
–Acts 8:4
Observation:
The believers were being scattered and persecuted, and still they preached the truth wherever they ended up.
Application:
Everywhere we go, we have to opportunity to share God’s love. Every trip to the grocery store. Every trip across the globe. Every business meeting and every time we are with our friends and families.
We can share His love in so many ways– a smile when it isn’t expected. Letting someone cut in. Looking at something from another’s perspective before we jump in to judge or be angry.
Oh. Ouch.. and there I have it. I do the simple stuff for strangers quite easily– but I’ll admit I could do a better job sharing His love in my own home to my own peeps. Too often I let them frustrate me, when, instead I need to look at things from their perspective, not just my own, and show grace and love. Alright, God, I’m on it.
Prayer:
Father God, thank you for the opportunities you give me daily to show your love to so many people– live in person, online and in my community and in my world travels. Please, Lord, let me continue to be a beacon for your love.
Also, Lord, guide me in my home, with those closest to my heart. Help me to act in love always. As you know, sometimes I get frustrated and let emotion take the better of me. Guide me, Lord, in stopping, assessing situations and seeing and reacting as YOU would have me react. Guide me in showing your love.
Thank you for this realization and vote of confidence that I can do it.
I love you. Thank you for treating me with kindness and love. Always.
