Scripture: Romans 10:3
Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.
Observation: True righteousness only comes from God. And it can only be reached through faith in God.
Application: Trying to earn righteousness will not work. And perhaps it is even insulting if I am trying to “earn” it when I have already been given it through faith.
Prayer: Lord, I do find myself trying to earn praises from others on earth and yes, even from you. Sometimes I have to question my motives to be sure I am doing what I do for the right reasons. I want to serve you. And serve you because I love you, not because I want to earn anything from you. You have already given me the greatest gift. And my actions will not change that or get me a better spot in Heaven. Thank you Lord, for that.
