Thank you so much for your prayers about my appointment with the surgeon yesterday.
I was reassured by him that the cyst is most likely benign and I am scheduled for surgery next week to get it out. (Yippeee!!)
I’ll likely stay just one night in the hospital, but there is a possibility of two.
The surgeon’s nurse smiled and laughed a bit when it dawned on me I would be actually sleeping overnight in the hospital.
“Oh, so… what do I need to bring,” I asked her, recalling all those lists you see about what to pack when you are having a baby.
We decided I should leave the birthing ball at home, but I think I’ll still bring the soothing music. And pictures of my family. But not the scrapbook page for the footprints. And my surgeon said that yes, I could have pictures of the cyst if I want them. The nurse also suggested I bring my own slippers and a robe, but just wear the hospital gown instead of bringing my own (since everyone will want to be checking out my incisions all the time). Then she explained that my incisions will be sealed with something like super glue. COOL!
We saw the official report from the radiologist which told us just how big the sucker is and let me tell you, that thing is pretty big. We might just make a prototype out of a plastic bag so we can really picture how big it is in there. (If I do, I might just take a picture and share. ) No wonder I look pregnant and feel so smashed in there and often out of breath!
Last night when I went to bed I couldn’t help but smile and think about sleeping on my back again. Aaaaaaahhhh.
Thanks, again, for all your sweet notes and prayers. I really do appreciate them.
