Good morning!
Today’s Psalm had a great reminder for me. I treat my relationship with Christ very comfortably, as though He is someone who can be approached whenever I want, like a best friend who is always here. That is true, but there is more to it than that.
Here is what I heard in Psalm 29 using SOAP:
Scripture: Psalm 29:2
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.
Observation:
Recognize the true greatness of his name. Worship Him in reverence of that.
Application:
Yes, He is always here, always listening, and always guiding if we seek Him. This is an amazing amazing thing because He is also holy and all knowing and the Creator. He is not just a big deal, He is the biggest deal. We need to remember that and be in awe of that and marvel at the fact that while He is the biggest deal, He also loves each and every one of us. Pretty amazing, huh?
I need to recognize that, remember that and thank Him for that.
Prayer:
Lord, I so often feel super busy and like I am juggling a million things. I am juggling a lot, and sometimes a few things have to get dropped.
You, however don’t have the problem. You are all-knowing and all-powerful, and you don’t need to let anything drop. And even in all that power, you still have time for me.
Thank you Lord. You are amazing. I am humbled that you have so much going on, and are the Creator of the universe, and yet you still love me and tend to the details of my life, and everyone’s life who lets you in to their lives.
Thank you, Lord, for being such a gracious, approachable power.
You created the universe. Powerful kings bow down to you. Your name heals, loves and rules ultimately.
I am humbled in Your presence. Thank you, Lord, for always being here, for loving me, for listening to me, for caring.
Thank you.
In Your Son’s name,
Amen
