Good morning to you.
Last night I took my daughter to see a play, Matilda, with some friends of our family and today I’m off to San Francisco again. I only had two nights at home and I’m so thankful I had the time with my daughter last night. She wanted to see the play from the moment a postcard from the performing arts company hit our mailbox a few months ago and I’m thrilled I was able to share the experience with her. I gave her the option of a matinee or evening show and she said she would prefer the evening because it felt more special. She got all dressed up and even carried a sparkly purse with lipgloss. I let her pick my dress. And I loved every second of being with her. As I’m sure you can tell from these brief updates on my travel, time with my family is extra precious lately. Last night was a gift to both of us.
On to the SOAP for today. This is what I heard in Psalm 46 using SOAP this morning:
Scripture: Psalm 42:5
God is in the midst of her;
she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
Observation:
Even in the midst of craziness and even trouble, God is right there, and He will help and strengthen.
Application:
There is a LOT of craziness going on in my life right now. Fortunately, it is all craziness that I believe is moving in the right direction. But it is craziness, nonetheless.
Knowing that He is here, that He knows the right path and that He will guide me if I listen, is very reassuring. I need to keep clinging to Him.
Prayer:
Lord, please keep leading me. There is a LOT going on. There are lots of things pulling me in different directions. I need your guidance. I need your strength. You know the right things to do, I am only guessing. Please hear me, show me and enable me to hear you and follow you. I want to be moved by you, only, and not the craziness. You have given me the gifts to have brought me here. Please continue to lead. And thank you so much for the great time last night and over the last 2 days with the family you have given me.
Amen.
