Good Morning and happy end of daylight saving time. (I think I actually felt that extra hour of sleep this year… WOOO-HOOO!!!)
There’s some icky stuff going on in my life right now that is rather frustrating. (I’m making light. It’s actually a pretty big deal, but I’m not comfortable going into it here.) Today’s Psalm reminded me to hold fast to Him. He’s with me.
Here’s what I heard in Psalm 59 using SOAP:
Scripture: Psalm 59: 16
But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress.
Observation:
In this Psalm, David is facing big trouble from his enemies. I will add my thoughts to say that the troubles are from THE enemy, ultimately.
In this verse he is determined not to let that rattle him. He will sing of God’s praises, confident that with Him he will overcome.
Application:
I am facing some stuff that us really frustrating and confusing and has the potential to be very heartbreaking. But I am NOT going to give in to the enemy. The Holy Spirit has me, and I am going to fight back with Him.
He is the strong one and He will be my/ our fortress and refuge. He will see me/ us through all of this garbage. I will tell of His love and faithfulness.
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for being my fortress and my strength. Thank you for this message that, with you, the right outcome will happen. You are here. You are my strength. You’ve got me/ us. Strengthen me. Help me to hear your guidance. Help me to be the support needed for those around me. Help us all to see and follow you.
I will sing of your love forever.
Amen.
