Welcome to Day 33 of the New Testament in 40 Days…. and HAPPY FRIDAY! Fridays still count in shelter in place and in summer, right? (I sure think they do!)
Today’s reading is 2 Thessalonians through Philemon… which means today, after you read, you can rightfully say you will have read THREE whole books of the Bible.
Today’s reading is super special because we get to take in the verse that inspired me to begin blogging my devotionals…. which led me to begin blogging through the Bible in 90 Days… which led us to where we are today.
In the beginning of my blogging life I was terrified about sharing my thoughts on my anything Bible-related on Momstoolbox. That was not at all the plan for Momstoolbox. I didn’t want to be wrong and show everyone what an idiot I was. So I was going to write about all sorts of other mom stuff.
But I came across verse 6 in Philemon and saw things differently:
“I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”
Paul doesn’t instruct us to WAIT until we know every little detail, instead he tells us to be active in sharing our faith SO THAT WE WILL HAVE a full understanding. That went against just about everything in my way of doing things.
But, for this, it worked.
As I have shared my faith on MomsToolbox, my understanding has grown from the posts I’ve written, from conversations I have had here, from the books others have suggested I read and from the increased prayer time I have had. It has all really been incredible.
I can honestly say that through sharing my faith, my understanding has grown. I can honestly say that verse inspired me, more than 10 years ago this month, to start sharing my faith online… which is why we are all here today reading the New Testament together right now. How awesome is that?!
I’m glad you are here with me. I’m glad you are reading with me.
Please keep it up. I do hope you are finding beautiful nuggets in the reading each week that are speaking to your heart….because Our Father loves you and cherishes this time with you. There is no doubt about that.
And yes, I’m already in prayer about what to read together next. Because we can’t just stop. This has been too much fun!
In love,
