Three times a week I go on a virtual mission trip.
I ‘visit’ people in all parts of the world seeking Christ, and I share with them how they, too, can get to know Him, either for the first time or how they can get back in step with Him again.
Sometimes I answer deep questions, but most often I simply offer a word of encouragement, a link to more information and a personal prayer just for them.
I get to answer the questions of those who don’t know who to ask because they might fear for their lives in asking a question about Christ, or they just might not know another Christian, or maybe, they are just too intimidated to ask for any number of reasons.
These questions come from the more than 250,000 daily visitors to nearly 100 Global Media Outreach websites, sites where visitors all over the world can learn about Jesus in multiple languages… and 5,000- 7,000 ask for more from a real-life person ready to answer their questions via email.
I love serving as an Online Missionary with Global Media Outreach. I love knowing that because of the efforts of those like me, the more than 10 million visitors that indicated decisions to follow Christ last year were guided closer to Him with a personal touch.
And, rather than search for people with whom I can share the gospel and help to fulfill the Great Commission, I am responding to people who are already asking to learn more. I am helping people to know Christ who already recognize their thirst for Him by praying for them and pointing them in the right direction. And I’ve got the backing of Campus Crusade for Christ whenever I have questions myself.
Right now, physically going on a mission trip isn’t an option for me or my family. But I still get to go on as many virtual mission trips a week as I choose, and impact the world for Christ in countries where it might not be safe to travel, as well as down the street.
I firmly believe that Global Media Outreach is making a huge difference in fulfilling the Great Commission. Just take a look and see how many people have visited their sites today, where they are living, and how many have indicated a decision to follow Christ.
Pretty amazing, isn’t it? (Go ahead and check it out and then swing back. I’ll wait.)
