But you have come to Mount Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angles in joyful assembly,
Observation: What an amazing image! This might be wrong, but I envision this as a massive choir of angels with sweet faces, glowing as if by candlelight, welcoming me into Heaven. What a change from the previous covenant with so much fear! Man, we’ve got it good. And easy. Okay, easier.
Application: I should be continuously thankful for the blood of Christ-that He has secured eternal life for me-and that it will be a life in Heaven of sheer joy, awe and beauty.
Prayer: Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your love of me. Thank you for this new covenant you made in sending your son to suffer and die for me and all others who receive such an amazing gift. You are a loving god, a father who tends to his children. For continuing to show your love, I cannot be grateful enough.
Thank you for sacrificing your son for me. And thank you for thousands upon thousands of joyful angels. What a homecoming I have ahead!
In your son’s precious name I pray, Amen

Not too long ago Missy from Its Almost Naptime commented that Hebrews is regarded as one of the most challenging books of the Bible.
As I’m reading Hebrews, though, I am also working through Isaiah. You don’t see me posting about that one much, do you? Woah. That one is challenging me! Perhaps because of where I am in each book, I see all these trials of one contrasted with the blessings and beauty of the other.
I’ll admit I’m really afraid of attempting to post my thoughts and then misinterpreting something. Then you all might think I’m an idiot or, worse yet, my misunderstanding misleads you and well, I don’t want to go too far down that route.
So sure, I’m going the easier route when comparing the two. I feel like God is calling me to take Hebrews to heart. This is where I am right now. I wonder if/ when he’ll speak to me more in books like Isaiah. I find it truly amazing that different parts of the Bible speak to me in different ways at different times of my life. The Bible truly is the living, breathing Word of God. How else could it speak to so many in so many different ways, yet declare the same truth?
