Last night my husband and I took our boys to an amazing concert by a family bluegrass band called Cherryholmes and we were blown away.
The music was beautiful, energetic and you could tell this family really knows not only how to play music together, but how to have fun together. Their excitement for the music and the performance was contagious. And today they are in LA for the Grammy’s as they have been nominated for 2 Grammy awards.
Anyhow, this song, “This is my Son” really touched my heart. I’m tearing up as I type this even. On the surface it is about all those who are giving themselves to keep us free. But it is also about another son who gave us what we often take for granted.
My seven-year-old couldn’t wait for me to find it this morning online. And as soon as I post this, I’ll go back to their site to buy their CD so we can can enjoy all the music again and again.
