B 90 Days Day 15 SOAP: He’ll take you back

Scripture: Deuteronomy 30: 1-4

1When all these blessings and curses I have set before you come upon you and you take them to heart wherever the Lord your God disperses you among the nations, 2and when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I commanded to you today, 3then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where he scattered you. 4Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back.

Observation:

I love you and will restore you when you really embrace my teachings and instruction. No matter where you have wandered, I will call you back to me, if you truly change your heart and call for me.

Application:

This passage is so beautiful to me. He loves us no matter what. He wants to be with us and wants to bless us. And He will, when we fully embrace Him and His teachings. Even if a person cannot forgive you or even if you cannot forgive yourself, He wants to show you his love and if you truly embrace Him, He will restore you.

Wow.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for your eternal love for all of your children. Thank you for this promise of restoration in return for loving and obeying you with all my heart. And thank you for the sacrifice of your Son who fulfills this forgiveness in so many ways.

Please, Lord, guide me in sharing this message with those who feel so lost and beyond your love. Fortunately I have never felt that way but so many have. Help me to point them to you and show them how they can be restored. And if it is your will, guide me in helping them walk the path back to you, even if they feel they have never known you.

Thank you , Lord for bringing this passage to mind today. I have a feeling I will be using it a lot in my role as an Online Missionary.

I can honestly say that there was a season in my life where I was lost and did not know if I was coming or going (I did not know the Lord then) I am so blessed to have found Him and that He has taken me for who I am who I was and is still teaching and guiding me each day.

A song comes to mind reading this ..Take You Back by Jeremy Camp.

  2. I am responding to the person, (sorry I don’t have access to your email right now and don’t recall your name), who spoke about the killings in Joshua. I did the Joshua reading today as well. It is a bit shocking to read about all the killings. I can’t recall torture. But, one thing we can take note of is that God told Abraham, “for the iniquity of the Ammorites is not yet full”. Also, one of the passages in the reading was that God didn’t give the Israelites that land because they were righteous, but because the people of the land were wicked. God had to severly judge them. God is holy. That is one of the themes. I have heard it put there there would have been all kinds of diseases from the immorality. God just had to clean it all up. The people were beyond the point of redemption. Some of the Cannanites were left, you read , and they lived among the Israelites. Today we want to soften up God and apologize for him. But God is both love and holy. I am shocked by the holiness of God in these readings throughout Exodus, Levitucus and Deuteronomy. It makes me believe that there really is a hell. God will judge sin. I guess it’s not really true that God loves the sinner and hates the sin, though we ourselves should make that distinction. The two are are really inseparable. Whoever continues in sin, God will judge. It is not an easy message for today. God is holy. God is loving. God will judge sin in the sinner; the sinner is judged. We saw that in Israel and outside of Israel. We can be so thankful for the mercy of God on sinners. Jesus had to pay the price. All who trusted in God were forgiven. Hope that helps.

  3. Yes, I am still here!

  4. The good thing is even when we are still “far” from God… He reach out to us – and that shows His supreme love towards us. :)
