Today’s Reading: Judges 15:13- 1Samuel 2:29
If you are reading through the Bible in 90 Days with us and getting behind, try to remember that this is a 90 day reading program, not a study program, It is okay if you don’t understand everything you are reading. There is a LOT to grasp! Just hang in there and keep reading and the Lord will reveal what you need to know when you need to know it. We are reading to gain an overview. This overview will be a huge help when you study later.
On to today’s SOAP:
Scripture: Ruth 1: 16
But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”
Observation:
Ruth took her marriage vows quite seriously, insisting she remain bound to Naomi, even after her husband’s death.
Application:
I love how committed to Naomi Ruth is. This is such a beautiful story of honoring commitments made with the Lord… and His provision after doing so.
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord for the many times you are there for all of your children and that you see us through when we honor you and stand by our word to you.
When Ruth joined Naomi’s family she could have had no idea what was to come. Yet when the rain did come, she stood by her commitment, honoring it and honoring you. And then you blessed her greatly.
Please guide me in standing by the promises and commitments I make in your name and to you. Please, Lord, don’t let me slip. Hold me tight and remind me of this story when I do slip.
I want to honor you. I want to honor my commitments and promises to you. Thank you, Lord for your guidance.
Please, Lord, guide all those who commited to read your Word with us these 90 days. I know many are being attacked. I know many are facing struggles and wondering if they can do this or if they should. Please, Lord, let them see your power and love and help that to keep them reading and growing in their understanding of you. With you, they can do this. They can honor their commitment and be rewarded. Please, give them the push and whisper or shout they need.
Thank you, Lord.
