Day 81 of the Bible in 90 Days
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12: 4-7
4There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.
7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
Observation: The one Spirit gives different types of gifts to different people so that they may work together for the benefit of all.
Application: I have been in prayer quite a bit about the next online community of Bible in 90 Days, which launches July 1.
I have been praying about the lack of accountability over the internet and my lack of ability in encouraging each and every reader. I believe that yesterday the Lord offered a solution to me and today it has been supported in my Bible reading.
For the next session, I plan to call on the veteran Bible in 90 Days readers who completed the reading this time (either on time or close to it) to serve as mentors and help those who are reading the next time through personal encouragement and prayers. I think I have the details worked out and will share more about that later.
Seeing theses verses and the surrounding passages jump off the page at me this morning was pretty exciting, though, so I had to share it with you.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your encouragement of me as I have encouraged others to read your Word. Please continue to guide me in serving you the way that You intend for me to serve. Guide my steps so they are honoring to you alone and follow what you have in mind for me.
Please guide those who are a part of our reading group to hear you in their daily reading. Give the nudges and encouragement needed for those who are struggling. And open the hearts of those you intend to use to help the next group of readers so that your will can further be done.
Guide us all in following your plan alone.
Thank you, Lord, for this honor and privilege.
