Congratulations, Bible in 90 Days readers!
You have made it to week two and I am so very, very proud of each and every one of you. Yes, even those of you who are not up to date on your reading (yet), because, obviously, you are still committed to this challenge and want to read the entire Bible with us before Thanksgiving. Now THAT’S something to be thankful for… right??
So how is it coming? Is it harder or easier to make the time to read than you expected? Is the Bible more exciting to read than you thought it would be? It’s sure got some drama in there and is definitely page-turning at parts, in my opinion.
This time I’m shaking things up and reading chronologically, which is taking some getting used to, but I do love it.
For those who are reading chronologically, thanks for all your patience with the rocky start. This is the first time we’ve done it this way, compared to the nearly ten years experience I have in helping people read it cover to cover with the Bible in 90 Days ministry, so I’m learning as I go and am so thankful for a dedicated team of volunteers helping every step of the way.
I’ll try to keep this short and jump in to the resources so you can get back to your reading of the Bible, okay?
Required check in
Have you checked in with your mentor this week? Please do so, whether you are on track or struggling or even just slacking. Drop her a note and let her know what’s going on. She’s praying for you and wants to help. Plus, ignoring someone who is committed to your success just isn’t nice, so reach out and say hello, okay? And, by the way, checking in weekly is a requirement of the program. How else can we keep you accountable when we don’t have weekly in person meetings?
Optional check in
Want to shout out to the rest of the group? Checking in here on MomsToolbox each week with a comment is optional (unlike checking in with your mentor which is required), so feel free to leave a comment anytime, but especially on the weekly check in posts like this one. I’d love to hear how the reading is going for you and pray for you, so leave me notes here so I can help and encourage you, too. Plus, as you look over these comments, please reply to someone else’s comment (or three) and pray for your fellow readers.
Link up
Are you blogging about your reading? Feel free to link up your post below so we can read more about your experience. Please leave a link directly to your most recent Bible in 90 Days post in the link tool and link back to this post in your own post, so your readers can see what others are experiencing.
You are Here in the Bible
Need an overview of what you are reading each week? Ted Cooper, who developed the original Bible in 90 Days program, has given me permission to share You are Here in the Bible, a great resource to keep at hand when reading the Bible at this pace. It will explain new terms, introduce you to people in the books you are reading and give a little historical perspective. The best thing is that it will keep you from going down bunny trails researching and instead keep you reading.

Are you on Twitter? Consider encouraging other readers by tweeting using the #B90Days hashtag.
Join us every Monday night (except Labor Day) from 8-9 Central to discuss the reading and encourage other Bible in 90 Days readers. Julie of Dutch Being Me is our gracious Twitter hostess this session. And here is a little secret about Julie.. She is the only member of our team who is not a Bible in 90 Days graduate… yet. So tweet with her and cheer her on as she is determined to get you and she through every page of the Bible.
That’s about it for now. So…. How was your first week of reading? Tell me all about it. :)
