So, my dear Bible in 90 Days readers, how is it coming now that we are launching into week 3? I hope you are doing well and I can’t wait to read about your progress. I pray for each of you as I respond to your comments and I love that time.
From experience in hosting this online and in person, I would guess that for some of you, the reading has formed into a great habit and for others it is getting tougher and tougher to fit everything into your schedule that you would like to. If you are having trouble, think of what can be set aside until October. How you can re-work your schedule to meet your priorities? I wrote this post about getting frustrated and keeping up during our last online read. Swing by and give it a read if you think you need a little push.
For those of you finding it easier, what have you moved or given up to spend more time with God?
If you are up to date, you should have read through page 180 in the Bible in 90 Days Bible or to Deuteronomy 34:12.
At the end of this post I will invite to share your progress with us. Please leave a comment letting us know where you are in the reading, whether you are caught up, racing to catch up or even feeling a bit frustrated. For more on check-in posts, please see this post. Bloggers, you are invited to share your progress with a comment or a link to your own blog post in the linky.
But first we have a few words from Wanda, who has truly embraced this challenge for quite some time. But I’ll let her tell you all about that…
My name is Wanda Shepherd, I live in northern Alberta, Canada, and I was pretty excited when Amy asked me to guest post on Mom’s Toolbox! Thanks, Amy! I have been a huge fan of reading the Bible from cover-to-cover ever since I became a follower of Jesus Christ in 1981. I am currently on my 46th reading, and am finding that participating in the Bible in 90 Days Challenge has significantly enhanced my reading experience. A community adventure is always more fun than flying solo!
One of the things that I really like about reading the Bible through time after time — and why I keep on reading this way — is because I like having a working familiarity with Scripture. When someone mentions a passage, I generally know where it is, because I’ve read it so many times.
I think it’s also helped me develop a more complete and mature theology, because I know what the whole Bible says, instead of just parts of John or Psalms or Proverbs.
Because I’ve read the Bible through so many times, I find that I can quote passages from memory without having deliberately memorized anything. A terrific by-product of all that reading!
This has always been something that I have been passionate and motivated about, and so I find that reading the Bible is its own reward. I like finishing my daily reading, and I like completing a cycle.
But the main reason why I love reading the Bible through is because it is God’s revelation. That revelation is progressive as God reveals more and more about Himself, His ways and His plans. If God says something in John, you have to know that it’s not something new, it’s built upon what He has said and done before, from Genesis on.
It’s an amazing Book, because He is an amazing God, and I look forward to sharing our great adventure of reading through it together!
Inspired? I sure am!!
You can read more from Wanda at her blog, In Search of Manna.
But before you hop over there, let us know how you are doing! We want to pray for you! If you are participating in the linky, don’t forget to link back to this post in your own post so your readers can read more about the program.

ok im behind, not much i will catch up tomorrow.
I am doing well in the reading. I ordered the Bible in 90 Days Bible and it came today. I am looking forward to tomorrow morning to see if it makes a difference. I am one day ahead. Since we will be on vacation Thurday-Sunday I am trying to get 2 days ahead so I don’t feel as pushed while I am gone.
The reoccuring theme the Lord is challenging me with is obedience. If I obey I will prosper. If I harden my heart, I WILL have consequences. God will not change the rules for me. I must choose. My prayer is to keep surrendering everyday. This must become a way of life not a passing behavior. Help me Jesus!!! Stephanie
I am about a week behind. Trying to read a little more everyday. Life is happening so fast right now.Trying to find quiet time to read.
I am about 1/2 a day behind. Every morning I have the intention of catching up, but I don’t. I know I’ll be able to soon, because I have learned that I love Deuteronomy!!
shew, I am all caught up!!
I am so far behind I want to give up. Gonna get the 90 DAY Bible tomorrow and see I I helps.
I am a week behind due to illness. I am a fast reader and hope to catch up by next week.
My husband is a day behind and I am as well. Weekends are busy for both of us and that is when we get behind. Will get caught up again tonight or tomorrow.
Hey, checking in for this week for myself and my sister, Rhonda. I am alittle behind due to helping my siser being on track, however I will catch up this week. Thanks for your support!
I am current. And praise the Lord that I am continuing to enjoy reading each day and finding application for my everyday life–something that isn’t always the case when I read the Old Testament.
However, I will be out of town next week without internet access, so I will report back on Aug. 3. In the meantime, please pray that I would stay on schedule when I have a disruption to typical routines and seemingly more free time.
Am behind but about to be caught up!!! Like others there is just something about this that makes me refuse to quit.
On track! I was so excited to learn there is a life size traveling Tabernacle exhibit in Hudson, WI (close to where we live in MN). After recently reading about the tabernacle, it will be great to go see soon. Amazing how God orchestrates even that exhibit timing.
I’m glad to say I’m on schedule and am still loving this whole experience. For those who are a little behind in the reading and striving to catch up, please know we are all here for you cheering you on and praying for each of you to see this through. I am so glad God led me to this opportunity to share this wonderful experience with all of you because it truly does make a huge difference when traveling the journey alongside one another. Blessings to all of you!!
I am still here too! I am so behind, but it’s weird that i can’t seem to give up..there is something that is making me continue to read daily even if it’s not enough..it’s AWESOME.
I’m really hoping that i will be able to catch up somewhere before day 89! lol.
I fell slightly behind but caught up as of today. Yeah. It feels good. I linked to my blog in the link-up. Thank you for sharing Wanda’s story. Definitely inspiring!
I’m here, i’m here. I am trying to get caught up from my weekend adventuring. First check in I forgot the last two weeks.
I haven’t done a blog entry yet, but I’m still here! Had to catch up today and this week will be a little rough, but I’m excited! I’ve never made it this far reading through!
Well, I’ve got about five more pages to read later on tonight, and then I am caught up with the reading. Thank you for your prayers, and I apologize to my mentor for not answering her e-mails: I will this week!
Ok I am a little behind…I had a conference out of state and my routine changed. But….I have created a plan to get caught up before the end of the week so I am feeling positive. Love being a part of this community and spending time in God’s word.
tried to post but word press said i had said that already
even word press knows i am behind, if this blows up, i’m done…
i will just read on my own without technology
i am about a week behind but managing to find some minutes every day …. and with all i have to do to keep a roof over our heads, those minutes will have to suffice and increase
Still on track, need to read today’s assignment before bed. I am so glad to have read all the way through Numbers now. I’ve usually skimmed (or skipped) – it’s not ALL numbers, like I thought!
this weekend i was away judging rally, but got caught up enough to only be a week behind… today i had an occular migrane, visual disturbance, but i’m pushing onward….. i am behind but i see that i can catch up over the next few weeks, i am not going to let this drop.. its hard to drop other committments, as they are all work commitments….and that keeps us eating and a roof over our head, but each day i will find time…. i even found time at the dog trials this weekend to get a few pages in…
Well it’s official…I’m definitely behind. …But I’m not giving up.
…pressing forward (even if it takes a little longer than 90 days)…
Robin
Just like a lot of people, I am behind. I am only about a day behind. I am planning on getting caught up between today and tomorrow morning. Trying to set aside enough time has been harder than I expected. Pray that I perservere and do not fall any farther behind.
As my writing partner would say, I’m behind like woah.
Hope to be caught up soon.
I am still on schedule . . . still reading at night. I simply can not read during the day with my children up and about. I do take the B90 with me while waiting for the children at gymnastics or cheerleading – but I don’t give it my full attention, so that is not working so great for me. At night when everyone is in bed is best. I cut TV out at night to read.
I am going to check in here this week for next week as well b/c I will be on vacation without access to the internet. I will not be able to check in. But I am taking my bible with me and am sure I will be ahead of schedule b/c we have 2 18 drives ahead of us. Plus, I need to read ahead for the days I will be in NYC for Blogher.
Feel like I am singin’ the same song as alot of others, “behind, behind”!! BUT- we are headed on a retreat of sorts for the rest of this week and are really seeking God in alot of things SO- I will be in my Bible ALOT! I will be caught up and hopefully ahead when you guys see me again on Monday!!!! Everybody have a fabulous week, I am OBX bound!
I’m still here! I have gotten a bit behind, but I’m not givin’ up!
Be blessed y’all!

I am WAY behind, but determined to catch up. I had a problem with no internet (and therefore no online Bible to read) on a recent trip, and then coming home to lots of work to do has put me behind.
I did just receive the Bible in 90 Days Bible, and so I am digging in. I’ll be just reading as long as I can each day until caught up. I’ll be carrying my Bible with me everywhere to take advantage of pockets of time too. Don’t worry, I am not discouraged or giving up. I will finish :)
Laura
I am still behind from getting a late start and then had a small setback yesterday. I doubled up today and I am finishing up Leviticus tonight. God willing, I will get caught up by the end of this week. I feel the power of the Living Word working all through my days and it still amazed me at how living it really is. The Words takes on a life of its own and breathes the breath of life into each and every situation. Praying for all involved that we may wield the Sword of the Spirit mightier than ever before!
I’m caught up with reading. I did struggle through Numbers but made it through. This has been a great experience and I’ve already learned a ton!
Still behind, but loving. I should be back on track by week’s end.
Well, I’m behind. Like, seriously behind. : ( But, I’m not giving up! I really do love how quickly we move through, which makes it easier when I am reading about sacrificing bulls for what seems like the 1000th time. To be honest, I am more inspired than ever to keep it up, for a couple of reasons. First, every time I start to read the Bible from cover to cover, I get through Genesis and Exodus fine, but then things start to slow down. Usually, I’ve fallen off somewhere around Deuteronomy. So, I am determined this time. Plus, it helps that things are moving quickly, which helps me to get through what to me may be the “boring” parts (although I try to keep reminding myself that it is ALL God’s Word, that it is in there for a reason, and therefore none of it is boring — even if it seems to be repeated for the fifth time).
The other reason that I am so determined to keep going is that I feel like I am under attack. Part of the reason I am behind is that I got a migraine on Thursday, so that put me down and out for about two days. When I finally got up from the migraine on Saturday evening, my back had gone out, and I could hardly move. Literally.
And I really just believe that it is Satan trying to deter me from this mission, from spending this time with God, and feeding on His Word. My husband is out of town this week, so I am planning to spend extra time each evening (and each morning when I can), as well as during my lunch hour at work, so that I can report next week that I am all caught up.
So there! : D

I’m a few pages behind, but I’ll get caught up tonight. I typically read at night. I find it is easier to read through the Bible this second time around.
I’m struggling to find time to read, but still here. I’m three days behind on this week’s reading, leaving me six total days behind. I’m starting on Joshua tomorrow even though I’m finishing Numbers tonight. I’m going to keep going even if I wind up skipping half of it, because I want to push for it anyway, and it is more than I’d read otherwise, and more than I’ve ever read. So, I’m still here, even if I’m behind.
Hi Amy and all,
I have caught up! Yea! I had a whole afternoon to myself this Saturday, and I read alot of Numbers! I am enjoying this very much, it is a challenge, a worthy one to keep up. I have learned so much doing it this way, I think I would like to do it again later this year or next. It puts it all together so well. :)
I have found my routine, and look forward to my reading each day. I have cut out television at night until my reading is done, and have even found enough time during the day to get most of the reading in, which is quite a feat for me! Also, have decided that kids should see how important that it is rather than doing it while they are sleeping. I am really enjoying learning the chronological order of things, so many times when you just learn a story, or skip around it is hard to know and remember what order it occured. Really greatful for this!
Trying to catch up in my reading. Feeling Blessed!
I am a couple of days behind but I am loving it and I am still going strong :)
I am caught up and even a little ahead because wanted to have today and tomorrow freed up cuz it is my hubby’s last two days of vacation. Now let me say that I DO NOT have children so no guilt trips! The enemy LOVES to get us comparing ourselves with others so we are either coming up short or feeling like we are just a little too wonderful ;)
I’ve been listening to the readings on my ipod and reading along with the Bible in 90 days occasionally but mainly listening. I love that it is exercising my focus as well ( and my body too when I walk and listen!)
Hi all! We are still reading, just a couple days behind now. We are in the middle of VBS (Steph) and working (Ted), and are celebrating two birthdays in our family this week. We are hoping that starting Saturday life will slow down to its normal pace, and we can make up for lost ground.
Praying to continue on for His glory!
Stephanie and Ted
I’m about a week behind, but as Flylady says I’m going to jump in where I am and will catch up when I can.
I’m still not caught up from being sick last week, but only one day behind… Hangin’ in there and lovin’ it!!!

This a link to my blog. I am still behind but coming along. I am refreshing my memory on so much and I am surprised at the renewal I am feeling. This is good for me. I am just so BEHIND. I got started late and may never catch up.
got a little behind but catching up
Sadly I’m about two days behind this week, but I’ve got a quiet evening ahead of me–hopefully I can get caught up! :-)
So far, I’m still on track! I missed one day of reading this week, but was able to make up for it the next day. I’m finding that I am starting to really look forward to the long reading time!
I’m a half a day behind, but plugging through.
Well, I’m behind…still. But I’m pressing on, and except for the weekend I’ve done really well for the past week and today making time to read and/or listen. I’m shooting for another good week! As long as I fall no further behind, I’ll be satisfied, even though I’d LOVE to totally catch up and be on topic with everyone else!
I’m almost done with today’s reading. Having a
hard time reading because my heart is heavy with troubles with my boyfriend. I know I should bury my hurt in His world. It’s just a difficult time for me. It has been good having a task to focus off my problems.
