Wow. So this is it. The 90 days are up. Many of you have read the entire Bible, cover to cover, with me over the past three months and now we are finished or close to being finished together.
We have encouraged each other via blog posts, emails, tweets, Facebook posts and weekly Tweet-Ups. We have grown as a community, grown as believers, grown as questioners, grown as sisters in Christ, praying for each other, thinking about each other and cheering each other on. And now we have done it… or we will very, very soon.
This has been an extraordinary experience for me.
When I initially asked a few bloggers to help me get the word out about Blogging Thru the Bible in 90 Days, I was scared. I didn’t know if anyone would show up and read with me or not. And then you heard about it and signed up… and then you did, too…and you… and then my tiny little blog of devotionals and mommy ideas became so much more. Because we listened to God and responded, together.
Many of you (who probably are not here anymore) I let slip through the cracks. I am so sorry I couldn’t follow up with everyone as well as I had hoped. I let you down. But I have been praying for you and think I’ll have a team in place to keep that from happening next time.
The rest of you who hung in there and read, some of you kicking and screaming, some of you soaking it all in, all of you giving up other things in your life to spend more time with the Lord, have amazed me and inspired me. Thank you for trusting me and joining me in this challenge. I cannot thank you enough for giving it a try.
Reading the Bible in 90 days changed me… and it changes me every single time I do it. I hope that you will feel changes, too.. today, tomorrow, in five years, whenever the time is right for God.
I’m having a real hard time writing this. I wanted to write a party post, but my eyes keep filling with tears. I love you. And I am amazed that God picked me to share this with you. And I am so honored and amazed.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for listening to God urging you on to read. Thank you to those of you who you wrote beautiful guest posts and linked beautiful posts from your own blogs. Thank you for your incredible comments and tweets and emails. Thank you to the original 11 who initially helped me to get the word out. (I refer to us as the 12 blogging tribes.) And thank you, Lord for picking me, and for not giving up on me.
I am so proud of each of you for taking part. Those who do finish reading the Bible are in a minority of Christians… There aren’t too many of us who have actually read the entire Bible. But now, or very soon, you have read it all, cover to cover.
So here it is, the final check- in post of the Spring 2010 class of Blogging Thru the Bible in 90 Days. But I’ll leave it open until we hit 100 days. (And by then I’ll figure out a way to keep some sort of check in system going for those who are still reading.)
Please link up your post sharing your thoughts on the adventure. If you already linked it up on the Day 88 check in, feel free to link the same one here, too. I’d love to have a beautiful collection for anyone to read.
And it you don’t blog or don’t have a post to link, but you read with us, please leave a comment here. Let’s think of this post as our virtual yearbook where we can all go back and remember the love and encouragement we shared.
As you do finish, please be sure to send me an email directly. (You can use the button to the top right.) My husband and I have gifts we are working on for each of you and I’ll need to contact you when they are ready to get them to you. Plus, I’d also like to have your permission to list you as a grad on the sidebar, so, if that’s okay, let me know how you would like to be listed.
Thank you so much for joining me. It has been an honor and privilege to read and encourage each of you.
And I can’t wait to do it again beginning July 5…
(If you would like to help with the July 5 group by promoting the challenge, serving as a mentor or any other way, please send me an email. I can always use your help!)
Before we go, though… Let’s meet again on Twitter for our last Tweet-Up Monday from 8-9 CST. I’ll try harder not to cry then. :)
Yesterday I wrote about a few ideas to consider next to keep you in the Word.
Happy Easter, my friends. I hope it is one filled with new meaning for you. It will be for me.
