Bible in 90 Days: Week 4 (July – October 2016 Read-Through) #B90Days

Bible in 90 Days Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 of the Bible in 90 Days with MomsToolbox!

EEEK! It happened. I have a confession to make, y’all.

I am five days behind in my reading. OUCH!

I spent the last week on vacation with my family and, well, I also slipped way behind in my reading. I have done this many times, and every other time this was NOT a problem. This time it sure was.

So what should I do?

Sure, since I’ve read the Bible cover to cover so many times I could just skip ahead to where I am supposed to be. Whom would that hurt?

NO ONE.

I’m not going to get a better ticket to Heaven or even a better spot when I’m there if I read every single page. I won’t get a shinier halo. God won’t love me any more or any less if I read every word of the Bible on time (or even if I read it all or not.)

But, you know what? It just won’t be the same if I skip ahead and leave one sentence out of my reading.

Reading the Bible cover to cover, in 90 days, is an amazing experience of seeing so much come together, of seeing how things fit, and seeing what questions come up this time that are different than the last time, and what questions remain.

Ya’ll if I skip ahead I WILL BE MISSING OUT!

So what am I going to do about it?

Well, I’m not going to beat myself up about it any more. (Satan would love that, wouldn’t he?)

Nope.

Instead I am going to make my way, bit by bit, with the goal to be caught up and back on track by this Friday.

I know I can do it. And I know it will be worth it. And so, I’m IN for reading EVERY SINGLE WORD and allowing myself to be blessed by every instance of reading. He says time spent in the Word will not be returned void. I trust that.

What about you?

Here’s some good stuff to get you through this week’s reading. There is a lot of repetition, so these resources will be a big help. I want you to soak in as much as you can, so use them, my friends.

This Week’s Resources:

  • 1 Samuel
  • 2 Samuel
  • 1 & 2 Kings (This has a great resource to use and keep things straight in these books. Print it out to follow along.)

This Week’s Reading Schedule:

  • Day 22 – 1 Samuel 28:20 – 2 Samuel 12:10
  • Day 23 – 2 Samuel 12:11 – 2 Samuel 22:18
  • Day 24 – 2 Samuel 22:19 – 1 Kings 7:37
  • Day 25 – 1 Kings 7:38 – 1 Kings 16:20

  1. Going to keep moving forward! BUT I am 4 days behind. I’m back from a camping trip so I will be reading when I can!!
Keep on reading!!! We can do it!!!

  2. Hello…Im in the same boat as you! I was on vacation with my family for 10 days and Im 10 days behind!! I took my Bible with me to read every night before bed but was so exhausted! Im planning on working on catching up this week. I know I can do it just have to stay focused!

  3. I am still caught up, but my busy season will be here soon. August 22 is the first day of school (I homeschool). This year 3 of my 5 will be doing school, up until now it’s just been 2. I don’t know yet how smoothly this will be at first or how I’ll fit in my reading, but I do know I won’t give up!

  4. I had a crisis last week that took over my life. So yesterday was the day I tried to catch up but I’m currently 4 days behind. I’m hoping I can double up days and catch up this week. But the crisis is still there and I’m not sure how much of my time this week will get sucked up by it. Either way I’m here and Joshua 1:5 was a very important verse for me last week.
