The reading for Friday is John 20.
Here is what I heard:
Scripture:
John 20: 31
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
Observation:
These accounts are in the Bible so that we may hear them, believe them and have the gift of eternal life.
Application:
God understands that the whole concept of Jesus dying for our sins and being resurrected can be confusing. These accounts of Jesus are recorded in the Bible so that we can have a better grasp of them and of Him and so that we can accept His gift of eternal life.
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for understanding every bit about me and also everyone else and understanding how extraordinary and unbelievable the accounts of Jesus’ life are. You knew we’d have trouble grasping this, and so you inspired writings about your Son so that we could see the truth and understand it better.
Thank you for sharing these accounts of Jesus’ life. Thank you for showing us the truth and helping us to accept and believe.
Thank you for your love and patience as we each put the pieces together.
What about you? What did you see and hear in your reading?
