Guest SOAP post from Janet.
The reading for Sunday is John Chapter 1.
Scripture
John 1:12
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
Observation
John was chosen by God to help set the stage for Jesus. Because John helped to share the word of God with others, they too could become God’s children by simply believing in Him.
Application
Regardless of who our parents are, where we live, or what we choose to do in life, we are all fortunate to be considered children of God by simply declaring our belief in him. We are so lucky and blessed to be thought of this way and to have all our sins forgiven. Just like John, we too can help share the good news with others so that they can also become believers and have eternal salvation.
Prayer
Thank you, Lord, for sending people like John out into the world to help share your word. Please help us to also be messengers in sharing your news with others.
Thank you also for giving us the opportunity to be welcomed into your arms by simply believing.
