The reading for Thursday is Matthew 12.
When it is time to read, please start first by praying and thanking God for His many blessings. Be specific.
Next present your requests to Him. Ask Him for whatever you want and need.
Third, ask Him to guide you in your reading, so that you will hear his message for you today.
After you read, record your SOAP observations and then listen for three minutes. Set a timer and just listen to what he might be sharing. Don’t ask. Don’t thank. Just listen. (You can pray more after you listen, if you like.)
Here is what I heard in the reading:
I need to be actively for the Lord
Scripture: Matthew 12:30
“He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.
Observation:
If you aren’t working with me, then you are working against me. There is no middle ground.
Application:
To show myself as a daughter of Christ, I need to be sure my efforts and actions are in accordance with what the Lord wants. If I am not working for the Lord, then, actually, I am telling people it is okay to say you want to live for Jesus and then do nothing. And by doing that, I am lying.
It is not okay to just say you love the Lord and not follow and share His love.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for your love. Thank you for sharing it with me and teaching me more about you every day. Please show me how to continue serving you and how to gather for you. I never want to cause anyone to stumble out of my lack of action.
