Are you a Christmas planner type or do you like to wing it?
I am moving into major Christmas planning mode this week and couldn’t be more excited.
I’m thrilled to be visiting extended family for Thanksgiving and, this year, I will be bringing Santa’s sleigh with me and sharing gifts one month early there so that my gift-receivers can enjoy their gifts all throughout Christmas. (How’s that for a hint, kids?)
Don’t get me wrong, here. As much as I can be a planner on some things, I do not have a great record on all things.
Typically I send Christmas cards in February, (Not that I intend to. It just happens.) but this year I am hoping to get them out sometime in December. November would be ideal. But I don’t want to get too crazy, here.
In the past I have used the FLYLady’s Holiday Control Journal for getting ready for holiday parties, baking, decorating, gift-giving and more. It’s a free download, so click over, check it out and print the pages that will work for you. I love her Holiday Gift List, as it has boxes to check for for purchasing, budgeting, wrapping, shipping… and reminds you to think clutter-free.
This year I wanted a few different pages than the FLYLady offered, so I checked out my friend Jessica’s site, Life as Mom, and her awesome Christmas in July feature from this summer. She has even more excellent ideas and resources, there, too.
From Jessica’s site I found a link to Organized Christmas where I hit the motherload of all FREE Christmas organizing printables. OH MY GOODNESS! This site has a printable for every detail you might want to consider. Check out this index of Christmas Planner Pages… There is even a Holiday Values planning sheet! And did I mention every printable is free?! I think I might be in planning heaven!!
Swing by these great resources and let me know what you think.
Before you go, though, tell me: Are you a planner or are you a wing-it type? And, either way, what are some of your secrets to success… and enjoyment?
