Day 2 (First full day)
Wow. I really am in a beautiful place. And a good night’s sleep can work wonders!
Last night my husband took our two oldest to the show and he said that our almost seven-year-old was really enjoying the experience. At all the Club Meds they do what they call “Crazy Signs” almost every night. It’s basically a silly line dance/ hand gesture (brainwashing?) thing to music. And our guy was really getting into it. The middle guy was just taking at all in.
This morning the kiddos all went to their own Club Med experience, our youngest to Petite Club Med and the boys to Mini Club, while the adults did some relaxing on our own. In their kids groups, they will play mini golf, try out some circus skills like the flying trapeeze (!!), cook, swim, visit the beach, try archery, play games and meet new friends from all over the world.
Of course the two year old’s activities won’t be so advanced… she’ll spend her time swimming, attending puppet shows, playing with puzzles, playing with play doh and coloring, hearing stories and climbing on a playground built for kiddos her age. All the kids will eat lunch in a restaurant designed just for them and our youngest will even have siesta time.
This morning I took in a Yogalates class and vowed to go every morning (or at least every other morning) while I’m here. The class was just challenging enough to make me know there will be benefits to keeping it up. Plus how often do you get to exercise while listening to and watching waves crash into the beach? Not often for me.
After sweating, I snagged a table overlooking the ocean and finished writing and posting my SOAP entry. Now that’s the way to do it! I was surrounded by so much beauty!
I hung out with my husband for a bit then it was lunch time.
After lunch my husband took out a kayak and later I decided to get our daughter from her group early so we could have some beach time on our own. She wasn’t too impressed with the sand. And when the tiny wave swept over her legs, she was ready to go. So off to the pool we went. No sandcastles today. But who knows what tomorrow will bring?
And, not to make you all hungry, but I couldn’t resist snapping this shot at dinner…
One of my very favorite things to eat is stone crab claws and I was so excited to find them on the dinner buffet. I certainly ate my fill!
