Sometimes in all the hustle and bustle of life, my husband and I don’t get to connect as often as we’d like. During December, things can get really crazy, especially. And with so much emotion tied up into Christmas, mixed with different family backgrounds and expectations, things can really get messy.
Tonight let’s work to get ahead of any misunderstandings. Or, if you cannot do it tonight, let your husband know you’d like to talk about your thoughts together and pick a time after the kids go to bed to connect and compare expectations and social and work calendars so you can do a better job of being teammates.
Here is today’s Advent activity:
Spend some time with your spouse discussing your expectations for the rest of the month. Pray together that you would have your hearts focused where the Lord wants them to be.
If you are divorced or not in the best position to have a heart to heart with the father of your children, then perhaps you can use this time to think about your plans for the month and figure out the best way to reach out to him and coordinate plans so things can be as comfortable and stress-free as you can make it for your kids.
Hope this helps you to have a merrier Christmas!
