Scripture: Jeremiah 10:23
I know, O Lord, that a man’s life is not his own;
It is not for a man to direct his steps.
Application: It’s easy to write this on paper (And type it into a file). And it is not too challenging to believe. Yet I find this pretty challenging to embrace completely on a daily basis.
Society says I’m in charge- and I’ve seen the fruits of my labor as well as the lack of fruits for those that do not labor. But there is more to it than that.
It is up to me to consult, listen and follow God via Jesus. It is up to me to take action and use the gifts and tools I have been given.
First, though, I must ask God’s direction. He knows the master plan. If I consult him in forming my own plan, He will reveal what I need to know from his. If my heart is true, and I am working for him, I bet he’ll guide me in the right direction and bring eternal success.
Sometimes it is hard to see past right now and today. I often want/ think I need something right away. But by succumbing to him, true peace will result.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for creating a master plan for me. And thank you for your forgiveness and gentle correction when I want to control it. Sure, my control may bring wordly success, but yielding control to you will bring true peace and eternal riches. Please don’t give up on me when I stumble. Thank you for your constant love.
Please help me to hear your guidance as I need it and follow it as I should.
