God’s planning: Blood clots, silver linings, writing, reading and Argentina

So here’s a thought on God’s planning: Today my family is skiing. I am not with them because of the blood thinners I am on as a result of my blood clot from surgery in March. Instead I am sitting in a cozy ‘reading room’ in a gorgeous hotel, draped over a cushy leather chair with light music in the background and stunning mountains in front of me.  (That photo barely does my view justice.) I just finished a perfect book that I ‘randomly’ discovered on Instagram. I’ve begged for a day to read and write for months. And today my gift has arrived. Thank you, God, for your timing and planning and many, many silver linings.

Of course I also wanted to write about each day of this trip to South America in order, sharing our adventures with you in the order in which they unfolded. But life is messy. And I wanted to share this NOW rather than waiting. And so I here I am, sharing out of order. Because I had to share.

I have hundreds of adventures I’ve intended to share with you through the years but hesitated as the timing wasn’t right, and I wanted to start from the beginning. Things just get might all jumbly around here. Stories from last year and two days ago and four summers ago just might end up being revealed in any crazy order… which is kind of how my dreams have been since we’ve been in Argentina. My mind must be on overdrive and yet, this time, in a perfect way.

Guess we’ll all see together. As I sit here in this fantastic chair from which I can even order room service and an outstanding bottle of wine.

This blood clot might turn out to be one of the best gifts I’ve received in awhile. Thank you, God, for silver linings.
